About Us
Watersmeet Country Cottages is set on the Walkersons Private Trout Fishing Estate, only a 10 minute drive outside Dullstroom in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Walkersons is a high-security Estate on 870 Hectares of land with a large variety of wild game roaming freely and then, of course, probably the best fly-fishing in the area!
We are extremely family-friendly. One cottage sleeps 4 with 2 bathrooms, and the other is a cottage that sleeps 2 people – a young family in one with grandparents in the other. The 2 sleeper cottage is a short walk away, across the garden.
Romantic: The cottages are isolated with a magnificent view and sunset. There is an open fireplace with wood provided in the cottages giving a lovely warm atmosphere.
Additionally, we’ve introduced solar power to our facilities as part of our green initiatives, ensuring uninterrupted enjoyment amidst efforts to overcome load shedding.
History
Our Property
Walkersons Private Estate is in the Lunsklip/Naboom river valley, and is 890 hectares of natural grassland.There are 14 dams, and 4 km of river all stocked with trout.There are Zebras, Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Blesbok, Cerval, bush pig and various other animals that roam freely across the veld. There are many concrete walking paths traversing the Estate for hikers, runners, mountain bikers and nature lovers. Superb fresh water quality – ideal for Malt whisky enthusiasts!

An off-road cycling track is currently under construction and is set to launch after the winter season. This exciting trail will wind its way through a lush forest, ascend to offer captivating mountain game viewing, and then descend alongside a scenic river, spanning a total distance of 35 kilometers. Stay tuned for updates on its opening!
Our Cottages
Watersmeet Cottage
2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The Main bedroom has queen size bed, carpeted, and en suite full bathroom. The second bedroom has 2 single beds that can be converted into a king size bed, with bathroom across the passage. The lounge/dining is open plan kitchen. The open Fireplace has wood supplied. Full DSTV available. The stoep has seating, dining table and chairs, and Weber Braai facility. Part of the stoep can be screened against the elements with canvas blinds. The view is spectacular overlooking the Estate and into the sunset fading behind the mountain.
Meals can be arranged with a top class caterer from Dullstroom
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large gas/electric stove/oven. There is a fridge, washing machine and dishwasher.
Feathers Cottage
1 roomed carpeted cottage, with king size bed, lounge suite with open fireplace, and French doors out onto a private garden. The full bathroom is en suite.
The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a covered stoep with blinds to protect against the elements.
